Summer Schedule for Kids

We love the idea of having an activity theme each day of the week during the summer, and these printables from Somewhat Simple make planning a cinch! We're going to print both "This Week" version and the previous year's version and laminate them to trade off and reuse with dry erase pens. The best part about it all is we can keep the activities simple so there's minimal planning for the parents and the emphasis is kept on learning and enjoying the activity together!

Some of our ideas for activities include:
  • Make Something Monday: Paint, color, craft, play dough, moon sand, sidewalk chalk, sensory table, lacing cards
  • Time to Read Tuesday: Library story time, read-a-thon, tell stories, act out a play
  • What's Cooking Wednesday: Cook dinner together, bake a treat, pack a picnic lunch, create a new snack/meal
  • Be Thoughtful Thursday: Plant flowers, bake cookies for neighbors, visit elderly, write letters, donate food or clothing, recycle
  • Somewhere Fun Friday: Park, splash pad, museum, library, local event, hiking, bike ride, movie theater
