Peanut Butter Chocolate Heart Drizzle Cookies Recipe

Peanut butter cookies are one of my favorites, and my mom's recipe is the best! Growing up we would make the dough into balls, roll them in sugar and top them with Hershey's kisses after they came out of the oven. For Valentines the kids and I thought it would be fun to use chocolate hearts. And with leftover chocolate and sprinkles, we came up with these!

Peanut Butter Cookies

Ingredients:

1 cup butter (softened)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
2 2/3 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup peanut butter
1 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
2 teaspoons baking soda

Directions:

In a large bowl, beat butter and peanut butter until well blended. Add sugar and brown sugar, beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, beat until smooth. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined.

Shape dough into balls (we like to use our Kitchenaid Gourmet Cookie Dough Scoop) and bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes. Yield about 3 dozen.

Cookie Toppings

Ingredients:

1 bag Dove milk chocolate hearts
Pink/red/white sprinkles

Directions:

Melt a small amount of chocolate in microwave for 30 seconds. Stir then melt for an additional 15 seconds and stir, repeat if necessary until thin consistency. Drizzle onto cookies with a spoon or plastic bag with tiny snip in the corner. Top each with a Dove chocolate heart and sprinkles if desired.

Let cool long enough for the chocolate drizzle to harden. My kids were anxious to try one so we put them in the fridge for a couple minutes. We love how they turned out, and tasted amazing! We'll definitely be making them again soon.

  1. How did you get such perfectly round and similar sized cookies?! Mine always turn out a bit lopsided, lol. I love the idea of using dove chocolate.

    1. We love Dove chocolate! I used our cookie dough scoop to make them into balls, and find it a lot easier than individually rolling them.
