There are many reasons parents choose a particular name, and trends in baby names are always changing. The name you decide on may be one you've liked for some time, grew to love because of someone you knew, has religious or specific meaning, or simply heard more recently that stood out. For my husband and I, we decided we didn't care as much how popular our kids' names were, but that they were the ones we liked.
What are the current trends? In 2014 Sophia, Emma, and Olivia remained the top three girls names, while Jackson stayed at the top for boys and Logan snuck up into the top 10. The following statistics come from Baby Center, and include names that sound the same, but are spelled differently as one name (ie: Sophia and Sofia as Sophia).

Is your child's name in the top 100? Why did you choose the name you did? Tell us in the comments below!
Nope! Only husband Tyler made the list! Guess our names are pretty uncommon! Hopefully it stays that way so they won't nave anyone with the same name in their elementary classes :)
